From 1st June 2025, FTTP installations for business premises will be assigned a mandatory minimum Site Visit Reason (SVR) based on the Ordnance Survey (OS) classification of the location. This ensures an engineer with the appropriate level of skill is allocated to complete the work and given an extended installation timeframe.
Installation fees start from £24.95. The SVR is automatically assigned based on your premises type. You can choose a higher install service if needed, but not one below the minimum SVR for your location.
__What does the install fee cover?__
Your FTTP installation charge includes the engineer visit, setup of internal and external cabling, and configuration of your router (if available). The level of service and complexity depends on your site classification and layout
__• Standard Install – £24.95__
Typically for business operating in residential premises.
It includes up to 15 metres of external cabling, tacked along the outside of the building to the entry point. Inside, the engineer will place the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) within 1 metre of the nearest mains power socket, as long as it’s within 10 metres of where the cable enters. If you have a router ready, the engineer will also connect it for you.
__• Premium Install – £54.95__
Designed for small businesses and shops.
It also includes up to 15 metres of external cabling to the entry point. Internally, the ONT will be placed within 1 metre of a suitable mains power socket, which can be up to 30 metres from the cable entry point. Router connection is included if available.
__• Advanced Install – £199.95__
Applies to large business premises (e.g. supermarkets) and public sector buildings (e.g. hospitals).
It covers a more complex setup, with up to 100 metres of combined internal and external cabling from the Customer Splice Point. The ONT will be installed within 1 metre of a suitable mains power socket, and your router will be connected if provided.
Engineers may also work at height (up to 14 metres externally using a mobile platform, up to 4 metres internally without drilled wall anchors or up to 6 metres with drilled wall anchors). They can use accessible cable trays, work through floors or ceilings, and enter roof spaces if safe to do so.
Note: If your installation requires work beyond what’s covered here, Excess Construction Charges (ECCs) may apply. These will be discussed with you before any extra work goes ahead.
For certain premise types a survey may also be required. This will be driven by the OS Classification data.
