What is Fibre Broadband?

Fibre broadband uses fibre optic cables to transmit data at higher speeds than traditional copper lines, delivering faster, more stable connections.

We offer two main types of fibre broadband:

Business Fibre (SoGEA) – a part-fibre connection using fibre to the cabinet and copper to your premises. Ideal for smaller businesses looking for an affordable, reliable service to cover basic day-to-day operations.

Business Full Fibre (FTTP) – a 100% fibre optic connection that runs straight to your premises. Superior speeds (up to 50x faster than copper broadband), improved resilience and future-proof performance that can handle high-bandwidth operations.

What you get from us with Fibre Broadband

We’re proud of our heritage, but we’re always looking forward to what’s next, with a fibre first, future-ready mindset.

Bandwidth Speed

Faster speeds

Fibre Broadband delivers download speeds up to 50x faster than traditional copper-based connectivity.

Reliable

Enhanced reliability

High-performance connectivity with fewer dropouts and consistent speeds – business internet you can depend on.

Future

Future-ready

Built to handle tomorrow’s bandwidth demands and unaffected by the PSTN Switch Off.

Star

Rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot

Our experts are ready to keep your connection running smoothly, with business-grade support rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot.

MPF – the PSTN Alternative

We also provide MPF broadband – a practical solution that allows businesses to keep using analogue and copper services, even after the PSTN & ISDN Switch Off. It's an effective way to stay connected as legacy technologies are retired, giving you a clear path to upgrade when the time's right.

Different types of broadband technologies explained

Business Full Fibre uses 100% full fibre technology to transmit your data from the exchange direct to your premises, unlocking faster speeds and increased reliability. Also known as ‘Fibre to the premises’ or ‘FTTP’.

Business Fibre utilises a part-fibre connection, with a fibre optic line from the exchange to the street cabinet and a copper line from the cabinet to your business premises. Part-fibre broadband delivers slower speeds and a less reliable connection than full fibre. Also known as ‘SoGEA’.

We also offer MPF broadband, which uses copper wires end to end. Copper broadband doesn't offer the same speeds or reliability of full fibre and part-fibre.
