Migrating your DNS service
Migrating your DNS service is typically a straightforward process. Below is some guidance to help you get started.

1. Prepare your domain for transfer
Before you choose a new provider, it’s worth checking what may be needed to transfer your domain and gather everything in advance.
Unlock your domain: Most domains are locked by default. You can unlock it via your customer portal.
Check with your new provider whether you’ll need an authorisation code (EPP code or Auth-Code) to complete the transfer. If required, they can advise on how to obtain it.
2. Choose a new registrar
There are numerous providers you can use to manage your DNS. They are easy enough to search for online, but some examples include:
Go Daddy
123 Reg
Cloudflare
Please note that these are examples only. We are not affiliated with these providers and do not endorse or recommend any specific service.
3. Transfer your domain
When you have signed up with your chosen provider, follow their process to begin a transfer
Enter your authorisation code when prompted
Approve the transfer via confirmation emails from us and your new provider
4. Recreate your DNS settings
Once your domain is active with the new provider, recreate any required DNS records
Update your domain’s nameservers if needed
5. Test and confirm
Check that your website and any related services are working as expected
We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to take action ahead of the deadline to avoid any disruption. If you have any questions, please call us on 0161 222 2142 or email domainadmin@talktalk.business and we'll be happy to help.
